I could understand playing the games on a PC and doing the video production parts on a mac but using a mac for both is neither cost effective or performant.Įdit: if your worried it will loose software support don't. Really you shouldn't be using a mac for playing video games and streaming them at all. Tbh I don't really get why you would even want an M1 for your use case. Meaning for you their really is no point buying the M1. I think the M1X would probably outperform the 5500m but the M1 itself probably wouldn't.
Is their a good reason you want to sell the MacBook now? The whole computer industry is in a bit of a mess due to covid.
TL DR: Will the 16" i9 MacBook outperform the M1 devices? Is the switch from Intel to Mac ASAP before the resale values crater even more justifiable by taking a several hundred dollar loss in resale value? For my needs of solely Minecraft streaming / recording + schoolwork + 2 4k monitors, which setup is better? I am not interested in using Windows / Linux, I will be sticking to Apple products only! I am not interested in switching to Windows or Linux systems, I am only interested in purchasing an Apple device.Intel will lose value massively as more silicon products get released over time, so it's either sell intel right now or don't sell it at all, just keep until the device has hardware issues or gets too slow to use for everyday purposes I bought my intel device in 2020 and hope to use it till 2026 ideally but because of the Intel -> Silicon transition up until 2022, Intel end of life might be anywhere between 2023 and onwards.I'm going to be powering 2 4k dual monitors.interested in recording and streaming gameplay, so I'd hope that I could get 60+ frames at a minimum while playing with recording software without having to set render distance to 2 or something ridiculous.I will not play any other games, just minecraft and schoolwork / productivity a capable machine that can run for PVP and fast paced action purposes such as factions, Wynncraft, etc., not for casual player purposes like playing singleplayer survival.
I currently own the 16 inch 2019 MacBook Pro ($2840), and was wondering if I should switch to a M1 16 gb Mac Mini + M1 Base Model MBA setup.īecause of the Apple Silicon transition, I was wondering if should bite the resale value loss right now of $300-$1000 by selling the Intel Mac or run the risk of Apple randomly stopping support in 2023/2024 instead of 2026/2027, and then I am stuck in limbo where I won't get software support but I have to keep it and use it until it gets hardware faults / is too slow or sell it for like 200 or 300 bucks. Will thermal throttle be a factor that limits the Intel MacBook, and will the dual 4k monitors be a factor that limits the M1? What will perform better for streaming and recording Minecraft videos, the 2.4 ghz 8-core Intel i9 and AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB GPU found in the 16-inch 2019 MacBook Pro, or the M1 8-core chip and 8-core integrated graphics GPU in the Mac Mini? I plan on recording Minecraft videos or streaming while doing Minecraft PVP at the same time, so I cannot have sub-60 FPS, unlike others who play casual Minecraft such as survival singleplayer.
